Foreign expansion is an important part of Billennium’s development strategy. We recently took another step to strengthen our position on international markets with the opening of a new Delivery Center in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is the fourth country in which we operate, after Germany, India and Malaysia. Piotr Chmielowski, who took the position of General Manager, is responsible for the development of Billennium Canada.
The main objective of the new Delivery Center in North America is to strengthen and develop cooperation with the company’s current customers. Thus far, projects for this geographical region have been implemented remotely by over 100 specialists located in Poland and India.
The team being built on site currently consists of 3 people, and by the end of the year it is to be expanded to 10 specialists, primarily in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, business intelligence, computerized systems validation, and Python programmers.
Entering a new market is part of the company’s international development strategy – our branches are located in Germany, India, Malaysia and seven cities in Poland.
In recent years, we have gained valuable know-how and experience in managing international teams dispersed geographically and by working on projects in this way.
However, sometimes the specificity of a business requires a local presence on a given market and greater support from our specialists, but thanks to this, we can tighten cooperation with clients, show commitment and better respond to their needs. This is the case with the new branch in Canada.
One of Billennium’s important clients is developing its R&D center here and needs our support in technological areas in which we have extensive competences.
The Mississauga office has been in operation for over two months. For now, we are a small team, but we are making strong efforts to expand it. At the end of 2022, we want to employ 50 specialists here, and taking into account the market potential and competition, I am sure that we will achieve this goal.Piotr Chmielowski General Manager Billennium Canada
We hope that the Delivery Center in Mississauga will be just as successful in the coming years as its branches in India and Malaysia, which currently employ nearly 200 specialists. In addition to serving existing customers, we also plan to acquire new projects in North America, as well as expand the area of operation to the west coast of Canada.
We have been present on foreign markets since 2017, when we opened our office in Pune, India, and then a branch in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2019. For Billennium, opening a branch in another country is not just beneficial for business development.
It is also an opportunity to strengthen our competences, because we gain access to a new labor market with different technical resources than in the case of Poland, India or Malaysia. Nowadays, recruiting employees, especially IT experts, is a difficult, costly and time-consuming process.
However, I believe that our know-how in recruitment and attractive projects will attract the most talented specialists. As a company, we are very strong in such areas as: artificial AI, machine learning, BI and validation. The creation of a Delivery Center in Mississauga is to respond to local customer needs, and with time it will strengthen the awareness of the Billennium brand in Canada and attract new projects.Paweł Ćwieka Chief Delivery Officer, Billennium
