This year’s AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas marked a major milestone as a conference filled with innovative discoveries and keynotes in the Cloud and AI areas that will shape the business and technology landscape in the coming years. With around 60,000 attendees and 2,000 learning sessions, the event showcased the immense scale and influence of the AWS community.
As an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner, we had a strong representation of experts there in the areas of business development, strategic partnerships, and architecture, who took advantage of these five fruitful days filled with insightful panels to further Billennium being an active part in implementing top AWS innovations with our customers in the areas of pharma, public sector, finance and more.
Billennium experts with compelling findings
AWS re:Invent is a key opportunity to connect with global business leaders and specialized cloud technology and AI experts. Above all, it is a unique chance to gain first-hand knowledge of upcoming developments and innovations.
From Billennium, the event was attended by Nina Nourafrouz, Chief Growth Officer, Łukasz Stypułkowski Head of Partnerships, and Hubert Puacz, DevOps Technical Leader. Each of them made the most of an agenda full of keynotes, workshops, and talks to be inspired by the potential of newly discovered solutions and networking experiences, making Billennium an active AWS ambassador for change in our clients’ projects.
Nina’s key takeaway: New solutions for Pharma and Public Sector transformation
“Attending AWS CEO Matt Garman’s speech live and exploring his insights was incredible. He gave an example of how companies like Genentech use AI to automate more than 43,000 hours of manual work per year – saving up to 5 years of effort. This is a bold example of how technology is increasing productivity and transforming industries like pharma, ultimately improving patient outcomes by accelerating breakthroughs. This resonates deeply with our mission at Billennium to support companies with cutting-edge solutions in the pharma industry, where innovation increases productivity and creates tangible value.
With the upcoming AWS European Sovereign Cloud, tailored to meet the strict sovereignty needs of public sector and highly regulated industries, and tools like Amazon Q driving efficiency by saving thousands of hours across teams, AWS is setting new standards for operational excellence. Furthermore, during her keynote, Dr. Ruba Borno, Vice President of Global Specialists and Partners at AWS, announced new AI security categories, ensuring safer and more responsible deployment of AI technologies. These advancements strengthen our ability to empower customers across industries and contribute to transformative innovations.”
Hubert’s key takeaway: Simplicity through discipline and adapting to change
“Dr. Werner Vogels’ AWS VP & CTO session on Simplexity was a powerful reminder that while complexity is unavoidable, we must shift it rather than let it overwhelm us. His lessons on evolvability, aligning architecture with organization, and automating complexity resonated deeply with me.
I learned that to succeed in a constantly changing world, we must adapt or risk falling behind. Dr. Vogels also emphasized that simplicity is about discipline – doing only what’s necessary. His words, ‘Complexity can neither be created nor destroyed; it can only be shifted elsewhere,’ capture the essence of designing efficient, scalable systems.”
Łukasz’s key takeaway: Empowering partners with innovations for customer success
“Dr. Ruba Borno presented groundbreaking updates that strengthen the partner ecosystem – features directly valuable for Billennium and our customers. Key announcements included new security specializations like AI Security and Digital Sovereignty, which align with our focus on secure, responsible innovation.
The ability to access AWS Marketplace directly from partner websites opens new opportunities to streamline modernization projects for our clients. Additionally, GROW with SAP now available on AWS Marketplace enhances enterprise solutions, and the Partner Connections preview enables more effective collaboration across partners.
These advancements reflect AWS’s partner-first approach, perfectly matching Billennium’s mission to deliver transformative, scalable solutions that drive customer success.”
